Vienna based company, Lithoz, is set to present a new material for the efficient production of ceramic casting cores with the LCM-Technology later this month at EuroMold 2014.
This new milestone outlines the possibilities for application development with several advantages for manufacturers. The material offers fast and cost effective production without hard tooling including and can be used for highly complex structures. Fine details like slits, gaps and struts can be produced accurately with outstanding surface quality and green strength.
These ceramic cores are primarily used in the aerospace industry and for the investment casting of nickel-based superalloys of turbine engine components that benefit from the unique features produced with the LCM-Technology.
“Our LCM-Technology allows the production of ceramic cores of outstanding quality. We offer a cost-efficient and fast production technology for investment casting of turbine engine components”, says Dr. Johannes Homa, CEO of Lithoz.
LCM Technology was founded at the Vienna University of Technology specifically for the structuring of ceramics through additive manufacturing. The technology means that functioning ceramic parts can be produced directly form CAD data with the same material properties as parts made through a traditional manufacturing process.
Johannes Patzer, CTO of Lithoz, outlines that aspect, “The LCM-technology enables the processing of standard materials as well as materials specifically designed for our customers, and we can provide them with an additional technology for their specific demands.”
Lithoz will present this new material in hall 11, stand B140 at EuroMold 2014 in Frankfurt from 25th-28th November.
