UK-based additive manufacturing powder specialist, LPW Technology, has launched a new product line that will help users to efficiently characterise the flow of AM powders.
POWDERFLOW, a powder flow measurement kit, allows users to quickly and fully detail the powder flow to known ASTM standards. Recognising the common problem of mistaking machine or powder problems, which can waste significant time and costs searching for a fault, POWDERFLOW has been developed to combat such issues and thus reducing overall down time.
POWDERFLOW is delivered in a robust case and allows you to determine the following: Apparent Density ASTM B212, Angle of Repose, Hall Flow ASTM B213 and Carney Flow ASTM B964.
Working with many of the leading companies within the Aerospace, Biomedical and Automotive industries, LPW has long been unrivalled in its provision of optimised metal powders to the AM industry and are now applying their insight and expertise to provide their Total Powder Management solution and POWDERFLOW is one in a line of new and revolutionary services now available.
Phil Kilburn, LPW Commercial Director commented: “LPW has produced this comprehensive kit to enable its customers to monitor the health of the powder they are using in their additive manufacturing processes, quickly, simply and cost effectively. I’m sure all users of metal powders will find the POWDERFLOW Kit a useful addition to their testing regime.”
Back at formmext powered by tct in November, LPW founder Dr. Phil Carroll told TCT that the additive metal powder supplier had set itself the challenge of solving the problems of the metal powders market to enable AM to go into full production. This latest product line signals the latest step in the company’s plans to tackle risk and reliability in additive manufacturing materials.
