Massivit 3D Printing Technologies, a provider of large format additive manufacturing platforms, has announced its growth of 350% since the launch of its Massivit 1800 platform at drupa 2016.
It has now been over a year since the international trade fair, which occurs every four years. And in the last 12 months, Massivit has gone on to secure more than 30 customers from 15 different countries on five continents. It has also expanded its global distributor network to 25 members, also providing a comprehensive customer service and training support.
Among those customers has been OMUS, an on-demand 3D printing service for companies in retail, staging, events, and architecture, among more. In December 2016, OMUS teamed up with Louis Vuitton to create the first 3D printed point-of-sale location.
Another company using the Massivit 1800 machine is SuperSize, a subsidiary of Israel’s largest retailer, Heida Group. SuperSize has harnessed the capabilities of Massivit’s flagship 3D printer to extend its business offering in the retail, advertising and exhibition sectors. The company recently used the Massivit 1800 to print a 1.8m tall flamingo for a luxury private event. Thanks to the platform’s dual print heads, the flamingo was produced within one day, and after being painted in salmon pink, is now housed in the event organiser’s home.
Of the flamingo, Ofer Gal, Heida Group’s Founder and Chairman, said “it not only continues to captivate the attention of visitors to the organiser’s home, but has also contributed to increased business.”
He continued: “With almost 30 years’ experience in the industry, we have built a reputation as expert craftsmen when it comes to iconic retail displays for many international brands. Maintaining this ability to offer our clients innovative displays is at the forefront of our business model and is the reason we continue to invest in pioneering technologies. With the ability to quickly combine luxury with head-turning appeal, our Massivit 1800 not only adds a new dimension to our portfolio but it’s our solution of choice for statement pieces.”
Meanwhile, Sismaprint, a leading Italian digital print house, has also seen some success with the Massivit 1800. Since adopting the platform, it has been able to meet its objective to enter the promotional, event and interior decorating markets, increase their customer base in the meantime.
“The immediate impact that the Massivit 1800 3D printer is having on our customers’ ability to grow their business, reflects its ability to successfully fill a technology gap in the market,” assesses Avner Israeli, CEO, Massivit 3D. “Additionally, it demonstrates that brand or marketing managers within their own customer base are always seeking to maximise their budgets and add as much WOW-factor as possible to their campaigns.”
