ADAPT receive the Genesis Award
The Alliance for the Development of Additive Processing Technologies (ADAPT) has been honoured by the Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation (Jeffco) with its Genesis Award.
Receiving the accolade at the 24th annual Industry Appreciation Awards Breakfast, ADAPT is a research consortium focused on developing technologies to accelerate the certification and qualification of 3D printed metal parts. Jeffco is an economic development organisation with public and private investors, serving the needs of Jefferson County, Colorado, a community of metropolitan Denver, since 1955.
“The Alliance for the Development of Additive Processing Technologies (ADAPT) represents a vital partnership moving Jefferson County and the State of Colorado’s economy forward,” said Sam Bailey, President and CEO of the Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation. “This partnership of small and large businesses, the State of Colorado, Manufacturer’s Edge, and Colorado School of Mines embodies Jefferson County’s spirit of innovation, entrepreneurship, workforce development, and a shared interest of building the next great generation of advanced industries technologies.”

The Genesis Award is attributed to a company who has excelled in this area, honouring creative leadership, innovation, facilitation and collaboration within and outside the county.
Jeffco EDC annually recognises businesses working to strengthen the region’s current and future economic vitality. The Genesis Award is attributed to a company who has excelled in this area, honouring creative leadership, innovation, facilitation and collaboration within and outside the county. Winners are nominated by various entities and chosen by a volunteer committee. Past recipients include Colorado Christian University, Martin/ Martin Consulting Engineers, and Xcel Energy. This year’s winners have voiced their pleasure at receiving the award, noting it is confirmation of their efforts and success since the research group was founded in 2015.
“Our entire ADAPT team accepts this honour with tremendous pride,” said Heidi Hostetter, ADAPT’s industry board chair. “This recognition is validation to our centre that we are doing what we set out to do. We strive to help companies big and small research data and find new approaches to additive solutions to achieve the best possible manufacturing outcomes. The ADAPT team is committed to being a major contributor to the economic ecosystem here in Colorado and beyond.”
A research and development organisation, ADAPT is dedicated to the creation of next-gen data informatics and advanced characterisation technologies for additive manufacturing. ADAPT uses these tools to help industry and government qualify, standardise, assess, and optimise advanced manufacturing processes and parts.
