Nano Dimension Technologies has entered a partnership with Zuken Inc. to advance the 3D printing user experience and prototype turnaround times.
The 3D printed electronics company, and Nano Dimension wholly-owned subsidiary, will utilise Zuken’s CR-8000 Design Force as part of the relationship.
Zuken’s native 3D system-level design solution allows specification of unique rules for materials, and streamlines the process when 3D printing to silver or any other future conductive material. The software, hardware and consultancy service firm also brings DFM solutions to the table, optimising CAD data via its DFM Inkjet module. Joining forces, Nano Dimension and Zuken hope to enable their users to spend less time negotiating design administration, and more time innovating and driving new ideas to market.
Simon Fried, Chief Business Officer of Nano Dimension commented that the partnership with Zuken will build on a successful period for the company.
“It has been an amazing few years for our company as we’ve fielded interest in our technology,” said Fried. “We’re excited about working with Zuken to harness Design Force and take our products even further, giving our users a seamless experience from design to output and optimisation.”

Nano Dimension’s period of success culminated in the launch of the DragonFly2020 in 2016. Since, it has been well-received around the world, with PHYTEC and Fathom purchasing the machine in the US, and Syqe Medical from Israel, among others. Aligning with Zuken, the role is reversed and Nano Dimension will leverage the technology of another company.
“Zuken’s CR-8000 Design Force retains all the detailed data needed for 3D printing and allows export direct to manufacturing or 3D printing, without losing integrity,” said Humair Mandavia, Chief Strategy Officer of Zuken USA. “Nano Dimension’s 3D printers are typical of the many applications we envisioned when we pioneered native 3D design for manufacturing.”
Using the DragonFly2020, Nano Dimension announced in January it had successfully 3D printed electrical circuit boards (PCBs) with conductive and dielectric ink. Zuken’s CR-8000 Design Force is a fast, effective PCB design solution. Combining traditional 2D design with native 3D design, accelerated graphics and instantaneous rendering, the Design Force supports single board, multi-board and chip package-board interconnect analysis optimisation.
