Prima Additive Print Genius 250
Prima Additive Print Genius 250.
Prima Additive has introduced new metal 3D printing innovations and officially opened a 4,000-square-metre research and innovation facility at its second Innovation Days event.
More than 300 customers, partners and researchers embarked on the Prima Industrie headquarters to witness the launch of the Print Genius 250 powder bed fusion platform and the Laserdyne 430 DED laser metal deposition with a new, advanced deposition head. The innovations represent a significant expansion and enhancement to Prima Additive's 3D printing portfolio, which comprises two powder bed fusion systems and three laser metal deposition machines.
Print Genius 250 has been designed for the production of medium-sized components, boasting a build volume of 262 x 262 x 350 mm a dual 500W single-mode laser. The machine also offers optimised gas flow, minimised consumptions and allows users to change materials within two hours. Stainless steel, high-strength steel, high-temperature nickel-based alloys, titanium, cobalt chromium and aluminium can all be processed on the machine, while users can also monitor the build environment in real-time. A 2-line filter unit recirculates the gas inside the build area to maintain a high degree of cleanliness and ensure part replacements due to wear are less frequent.
The Laserdyne 430, meanwhile, features a larger build volume of 585 x 400 x 500 mm, a build rate of up to 40-50 cm3 per hour and has now been fitted with the Advanced Head. This multi-purpose DED laser head boasts a modular design which allows it to be mounted in different configurations to adapt to multiple laser processes. It also avoids dust infiltration thanks to its pressurised optical path, while its water-cooled additive-made nozzle allows for continuous deposition. The head can also be mounted on Prima's other laser metal deposition products.
Prima Additive will be exhibiting both the Print Genius 250 and Laserdyne 430 with Advanced Head at the upcoming Formnext show in Hall 11.0 Stand C28 between November 19-22.
