Global product development giant ARRK Europe is delighted to announce its decision to join the Society of Motor Traders and Manufacturers Association (SMMT).
The SMMT - which has a history dating back to the turn of the 20th century - is a crucial supporting body for the British automotive sector both at home and abroad. The group works closely with all facets of the industry and acts as the collective voice of the sector, promoting its position to the media, stakeholders and policymakers.
James Walker, ARRK’s Sales Director Designate, explained: "ARRK is involved with a wide range of industry sectors but it is fair to say that the automotive community does account for a substantial proportion of our client base. Given the depth and breadth of ARRK's range of services globally, from design engineering support, prototyping, composites, through to tooling and moulding, particularly to OEMs and tier one suppliers, we felt it was right to be an active member of the SMMT. We work closely with many of the SMMT members, both in Europe and around the world, so joining the association for us was a natural strategic fit. By becoming a central member it will help us to get closer to our clients' needs both now and in the future."
Mike Hawes, SMMT Chief Executive, said: "I'm delighted that ARRK has decided to join over 600 other companies in membership of the SMMT. We are one of the UK’s most influential trade organisations, actively promoting all aspects of the UK automotive industry both at home and abroad, so we are confident we can help ARRK with its business performance as we aim to do for all SMMT members."
ARRK has already attended a number of SMMT-promoted events from Auto Link Wales, Ford Open Access Day to the SMMT Open Forum in Worcester.
Walker added: "We have been hugely encouraged by the response we have received and I look forward to meeting many more fellow members at the forthcoming SMMT dinner in London."
