Prodways SolidscapeDL
SolidscapeDL and resins developed by Deltamed.
Prodways Group has announced the launch of the SolidscapeDL, the brand’s first resin production printing system.
Solidscape was acquired by Prodways Group last summer for an undisclosed amount, and the introduction of the SolidscapeDL system represents the first significant development since.
The ambition of Prodways through the Solidscape subsidiary is to build on its reputation as a leading provider of jewellery production solutions. Prodways notes that around 10% of global jewellery production relies on direct 3D printing, and the company wants to increase that figure by five times.
It believes the new SolidscapeDL printer, combined with a selection of resins developed by another of its subsidiaries, Deltamed, will help to achieve that goal. Like Prodways’ other DLP platforms, the SolidscapeDL will be powered by the company’s proprietary MovingLight technology, which polymerises photosensitive resins with DLP UV rays to produce parts accurately and quickly. Meanwhile, Deltamed is a company that has been specialising in additive manufacturing material and process development for more than 15 years, with its core expertise lying within the healthcare and dental sectors. As the SolidscapeDL is launched, Deltamed has developed three resins – EmeraldCast, DiamondCast, and ProtoCast – compatible with the new machine and its promise of high speed manufacturing.
SolidscapeDL will be commercially available from Q2 2019, and will be debuted at the Vicenzaoro tradeshow in Vicenza Italy between January 18 – 23.
