RAPID, SME's leading additive manufacturing event in the US, has announced its call for speakers for its 2014 edition.
RAPID and SME/RTAM are playing a vital role in defining additive manufacturing technologies in an increasingly interested global marketplace. The event is considered a "must-attend" showcase and is a place for manufacturers and product designers to come to learn everything about the technology, as well as explore the latest developments in additive manufacturing and 3D scanning.
Next year's event will take place on June 9th-12th at the Cobo Center in Detroit, in the US's manufacturing heartland of Michigan and the deadline for speaker abstracts to be submitted to RAPID organisers is December 1st 2013.
"3D printing is gaining greater attention," RAPID organisers stated. "Trade and business publications have picked up on it and have run numerous articles about how additive manufacturing (AM) is revolutionising manufacturing. This has spurred an international interest in AM, 3D printing and 3D scanning in manufacturing and other industries. There's no better time than now to share your innovative research, case study or application with an audience razor focused on AM. Become a RAPID 2014 Speaker."
RAPID organisers revealed that nearly half (48 per cent) of the event's audience are business owners, executives or product designers, with 77 per cent claiming to have influence over equipment purchase decisions at their organisation, while 76 per cent purposefully visit RAPID to evaluate additive manufacturing technologies and 50 per cent to investigate 3D scanning developments.
RAPID speakers can take advantage of exposure, recognition and complimentary benefits. Speakers will receive exposure as an AM or 3D scanning industry leader, boosting their networking gravitas and giving them access to fellow high-profile industry peers. This influence will therefore position speakers' organisations for growth, serving as a conduit for marketing their company. Moreover, speakers will be introduces to new customers and industries in the US's industrial heartland, as well as potential international clients.
Taking to the stage at RAPID gives speakers recognition to impart their solutions to marketing professionals, contribute to the manufacturing profession and enter the Dick Aubin Distinguished Paper Award Competition. All speakers receive a complimentary admission to RAPID 2014's expo, the keynote sessions and all conferences, as well as complimentary tickets for the networking reception and first priority for tours.
