Shapify.Pro
Artec Group has announced that the latest iteration of its 3D-selfie technology Shapify.Pro could be the launchpad for lots of new 3D printing businesses.
Designed for the 20 million-or-so Microsoft Kinect owners out there, Shapify.Pro could help people make money from this exciting 3D technology.
Indeed, Artec has called out to every Kinect user, no matter where they are in the world, that they could have a money-spinning scheme in their own homes already, which could allow them to scan customers and sell on miniature clones of themselves. Artec has branded those enterprising users who are 3D scanning and 3D printing people '3D-Shapifizers' and to become one, it is as easy as ordering a Shapify.Pro kit, which includes a Shapify.Pro, a Shapify-branded backpack and a scanning pad, in addition to a discount for 3D printing figurines at Shapify partner 3D printing shops.
The exact 3D-scanned mini-mes are 3D printed in monochrome or coloured plastic at one-twentieth the height of the individual and could make a fun gift, an office novelty or even an unusual cake topper.
"With Shapify.Pro," Artec says, "making money with 3D scanning and printing has never been easier: just follow the voice instructions to quickly scan your customer with a Kinect sensor and order the 3D figurine at the Shapify printshop at a special low price. The figurine will be delivered to your home in several days."
Shapify.Pro kits are available for $999 here and customers will receive $999 of credit on their Shapify.Pro account for 3D printing and shipping their first mini-mes.
