SLM Solutions, a metal additive manufacturing system provider, has announced its global headquarters and production facility has had its ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 accreditation from TUV NORD CERT GmbH renewed.
Located in Lubeck, Germany SLM Solutions boast a range of Selective Laser Melting systems which feature multi-laser options, bi-directional recoating, open-software controls and closed-loop powder handling. The main centre of this development has been recognised by TUV NORD CERT, the certifying body of TUV NORD, a worldwide technical service provider.
ISO 9001 is the international standard which specifies requirements for a quality management system. SLM Solutions, similar to other companies, will use the standard to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products that meet both customer and regulatory requirements.
The ISO 14000 family of standards, of which ISO 14001 originates, provides practical tools for companies and organisations to manage their environmental responsibilities. SLM Solutions will use the systematic framework to manage the immediate and long-term environmental impacts of the company’s products, services and processes.
SLM Solutions’ CFO Uwe Bogershausen believes the retaining of this certification indicates the company’s continued awareness of, and commitment to, social and environmental care, as well as its serving of a wide customer base.
