High-end audio product manufacturer, V-Moda, have unveiled a new series of 3D printed Bluetooth in-ear headphones which can be custom tailor made.
The Forza (‘Force’ in Italian) Series consists of the Forza headphones, specially designed for physical activity, the Forza Metallo headphones, made with aircraft-grade light aluminium, and the Forza Metallo Wireless headphones, which utilises Bluetooth connectivity.
Though each product of the series has a few subtle differences to the others, as a collective they feature a newly developed 5.8mm micro dynamic driver Hi-Res Audio certified by the Japan Audio Society (JAS). They also boast to be sweat-resistant, include patent-pending sport fins for hybrid sport performance and the world’s first jewel-grade 3D printing customisation of in-ear headphones.
“It took years of precise engineering to develop this 5.8mm miniature dynamic driver size without sacrificing V-Moda’s world class sound and quality standards,” said Val Kolton, V-Moda CEO. “To make the Forza line-up perfect for the active audiophile, it was crucial to balance amazing sound with the ultimate ergonomics, fit and stability. The micro driver enables you to customise the product with your choice of new patent-pending ActiveFlex sport fins or spectacular 3D printed customisation.”

The Forza products are customisable via 3D printed custom caps, allowing their customers to revolutionise and personalise their in-ear headphones. Cap materials include platinum (starting down from $7,500), 14k gold (starting down from $2,500), gold-plated (starting down from $250) and the newly developed and more affordable HD Acrylic ($40 or $20 when bought with the headphones).
“In June 2015 we merged, for the first time in consumer electronics’ history, mass customisation with jewel-grade 3D printing,” said Kolton. “Now we’re bringing additive manufacturing to in-ear headphones with our first collection of 3D printed custom caps. Not only can you remix your design, but you can optimise the design with an enhanced tailored fit.”
V-Moda’s wireless edition headphones in the Forza series is described as high-performance and ultra-sleek by the audio brand. Featuring Bliss 3.0 Fittings to ensure outstanding noise-isolation and tight bass, the Forza Metallo Wireless encapsulates the specialist sound V-Moda prides itself on. Val Kolton also believes the Forza series headphones are unique in that they do not feature ‘show-stopping compromises or useless gimmicks.’
“[All other in-ear wireless headphones] look unsightly massive ‘plastic space ring around the collars’, Frankenstein bolts that will not stay in your ears or separate earbuds that are quickly lost, have reception issues and need a dongle or case. Our first in-ear Bluetooth headphone feature a minimal design that can hide under a shirt collar, maximise battery life, enhanced antenna and unrivalled all-day economics.”
