Varia launches Farsoon Machines at AMUG

Farsoon caused a stir at TCT Asia with their laser sintering machines that are lower cost than current similar machines on the market. 

At the 2015 Additive Manufacturing Users Group conference in Jacksonville, FL, Varia 3D will discuss the availability in North America of two of Farsoon's LS machines.  Varia 3D will also begin offering upgrades to existing selective laser sintering platforms with the industry’s latest digital scanning technology.

“Over the past two years, Varia 3D and Farsoon Technologies have worked closely to create a LS solution that meets the demanding customer needs for North America,” says Varia 3D’s President and Co-Founder Brian Bauman.  “We are pleased to announce two solutions with an open-platform design allowing customers to use whatever material they like without restrictions,” Brian continued.  Farsoon Technologies offers the FS251P entry-level industrial solution with temperature stability and build platform volume of 20L (1,220 in3).  The 402P series machine build platform volume of 70L (4,395 in3) provides three options including the industry fastest SS402P with complete digital scanning engine resulting in 80% reductions in scan delays.

In addition to availability of Farsoon Technologies solutions, Varia 3D is offering the latest scanning engine for upgrades to existing 3D Systems platforms.  “After working with Farsoon on the SS402P scanning system, we realized this would be a great opportunity to offer the solution for existing selective laser sintering machines,” says Chuck Kennedy, VP of Operations and Co-Founder.  “We now have a complete upgrade kit including laser and digital scanning, eliminating control boards and the extra data computer,” Chuck discussed.  The Sintergy™ Digital Scanning upgrade provides speeds and small-feature control currently not offered on existing systems.  The scanning engine eliminates nearly all jump delays while providing fast scan rates.  The upgrade is available for 3D Systems 2500plus, Vanguard, Sinterstation HiQ, and sPro 60 machines.
