Škoda Auto has launched a range of 3D-printable accessories for its vehicles on Printables.com.
Drivers can choose from a selection of 10 nifty add-ons including storage boxes, cable management tools and cupholders. The design files can be downloaded for free from Škoda’s Printables library and 3D-printed on demand at home.
The accessories have been designed by the carmaker’s innovation incubator, engineers and designers for use with current and discontinued Škoda models. Škoda says by offering these designs freely, it affords them the ability to 'make everyday use of a car more convenient' without the lead times, tooling and inventory required for conventional production.
Škoda has previously released several 3D model files for its vehicles on the Prusa Research-owned 3D printing design sharing platform. This new range of accessories is said to have been specifically created in response to requests from the community. The company says it is also actively listening to feedback from users on the platform to guide which products it introduces next.

Owners of Škoda's Epiq and Peaq models can access cupholder covers, a jumbo box tray, special inserts and holders, and a lower console organiser. A clip-on cupholder for the Peaq’s foldable table also accommodates both standard and large cups.
