On Friday, 3DPCase launched the first ever mobile app for manufacturing cool and bespoke 3D printed iPhone cases, fully enabled by 3D Printing Cloud Technology.
‘Ultimate iPhone Case Builder’ is the first app commercially available on a mobile platform for making, customising and ordering 3D printed iPhone cases. A significant development for consumer-facing 3D printing applications, this app together with some great examples will be showcased for the first time at the Personalize Pavilion, part of the TCT Live 2012 experience, at the NEC, Birmingham, UK; 25-26th September.
The 3DP Case team has collaborated with a number of top designers to enable mobile users to create their very own iPhone case, which is then manufactured using Sculpteo’s unique 3D printing service and delivered to their door within two days. The 3DP app is available now to download (free) from the AppStore and is designed to democratize 3D printing because the service is affordable, with iPhone cases costing from just USD19.95. Fun and extremely simple to use the new Ultimate iPhone Case Builder app offers everyone the chance to get creative and to express their style and personality through the ultimate accessory.
The app allows users to choose from a range of designs, which can then be customized, including a case that incorporates your profile pictures, cases with different 3D printed text, textures and patterns and the opportunity to integrate your own name or message. The designs result from a combination of the latest 3D printing technology with traditional skills such as embroidery or traditional printing. Some cases are supplied as DIY kits, which consumers can enjoy finishing at their leisure in the comfort of their own home.
