GE Competition
Forget improving space travel, forget modernising prosthetics and orthotics, forget spurring on the next industrial revolution there is a more pressing matter that needs your 3D printing attention: Improving Santa’s Sleigh.
As if the man’s job isn’t hard enough the population of the world is ever increasing, as are the demands of the worlds good, Christmas celebrating children. By 2050 the population of earth is set to increase by up to one third, how can one, horizontally challenged man and his Reindeer powered sleigh possibly keep up?
In collaboration with GrabCAD, GE has launched a competition encouraging 3D modeller elves to help improve Santa’s aging sleigh. You can improve the functions of the sleigh by adding new tech just as GE did previously, however the model must be 3D printable.
GE have turned to GrabCADrs after the success achieved by those folks in redesigning parts for aircraft engines, they feel those with aerospace experience will be best placed to fix Santa’s sleigh.
Not only will the winners garner adulation from the Children across the globe but their design will be printed and shipped sleighed across the globe on December 3rd as part of GE’s #3DPrintMyGift campaign.
3D designers of the world, Santa needs you!
