Introducing Solidoodle 2
The second generation Solidoodle 3D Printer is now available for pre-order from the website www.solidoodle.com - it now has a larger build envelope of 6" x 6" x 6" with the footprint coming in a neat 11.5" x 11.75" x 11.75".
The sales spiel focuses on decent build quality and the fact that it arrives ready to go out of the box. Base model starts at $499, but you can have a outer cover, front door and heated build platform, which they admit will stop the bottom of the model warping for $599...why wouldn't you?
It uses 1.75 mm plastic filament, ABS is recommended and based on the Fused Filament Fabrication aka FDM.
Solidoodle LLC was founded in 2011 by Former Makerbot COO Sam Cervantes to put 3D printers into hands of creative minds all around the world. The idea was born out of a passion for robots and a desire for making 3D printing accessible to the masses. Sam has a history in the 3D printing community, having worked with a few different 3D printing companies and many different types of 3D printers.
