As you can probably tell by the name RobotShop provides parts for customizable robots, since launch in 2003 RobotShop have developed a reputation as one of the leading distributers of parts for both personal and professional robotics. Their latest venture into the technological future is 3D printing.
The firm which has offices in the US, Canada and France launched a 3D printing shop with five of the top consumer 3D printers alongside a filament store for all you material needs. Not content with offering one of the most comprehensive choices of personal 3D printing around the company have also launched a 3D printing service with the tag line “Print the World Around You”
“Ever since we first played with a 3D printers in-house, we have seen firsthand the benefits of being able to print custom objects quickly with no delay. We want to offer this to our customers who do not have their own 3D printer yet. Customers can add their 3D printed design to their order and everything will be shipped together.” Mario Tremblay, founder and CEO of RobotShop
Although the service is aimed at everyone, RobotShop hope their core customer base will see this as an opportunity to build custom robotic prototypes or replace broken parts at a minimal cost. The process is simple, upload your Stl file and they will send you a quote prior to the product, once you give them a green light the product will be printed and shipped to any destination across the globe.
Initially RobotShop will only be printing in PLA with a layer height of 0.2mm and parts can be no more than 10” x 6” x 6”. The raft/support material will remain attached to any products printed.
