Shootdigital World Cup
So you think Germany won the World Cup in July and got to keep it, well, you’d technically be correct but thanks to one of TCT Show + Personalize’s newest exhibitors, Art In The Age Of, you could be in with a chance of winning an exact gold-plated replica of the World Cup Trophy worth in excess of £4,000!
Art In The Age Of is a subsidiary of the revered New York creative studio shootdigital and are launching their latest brand at this year’s TCT Show. The new company will be home to a unique collection of design objects and upscale jewelry. Art In The Age Of’s artisans combine digital additive manufacturing with traditional craftsmanship.
One of the items included in the collection is a 24K gold skull that is part of Art In The Age Of’s pioneering direct precious metal plating of 3D prints through a proprietary process. The gold skull exemplifies this special technique and requires a total of six man-hours of polishing throughout all plating stages to achieve its mirror finish.
Art In The Age Of’s parent company shootdigital count amongst their clients Oreo, Marc Jacobs, Chanel and Moroccan Oil. Based in the creative New York NoHo district they’re celebrating the launch of the new company by launching on their stand at G20 of TCT Show and giving away the World Cup Replica Trophy that was curated as World Cup fever swept the New York office.
Shootdigital were also responsible for one of our stories of the year, as they scanned and printed the 2.5-million-year-old Taung Child head, we’re delighted to be able to display both this example of digitisation and the piece of art that is the Gold Skull from Art In The Age Of at this year’s Innovation Showcase.
