3D LifePrints a UK-based medical 3D printing company, has received around £500,000 during a Series A investment with Fenwall Investments Ltd.
The funding will be harnessed to drive the company’s growth. It operates within the North-West of England as a 3D printing manufacturer and service provider for NHS hospitals and academic institutions.
Partnering with clinicians, healthcare providers and academics, 3D LifePrints works to identify new applications of 3D printing technologies with the end goal of delivering better care for patients, while reducing costs. With the £500,000 sum, 3D LifePrints says it will expand its portfolio of embedded medical 3D printing hubs across the NHS and overseas, recruit biomedical engineers and 3D technologists, as well as continuing to invest in research and development.
“We are extremely pleased to announce the completion of this funding round which will accelerate our unique model of embedded 3d medical printing services to dive down operational costs, provide innovative 3D technology based products and services, and ultimately improve patient care,” commented Paul Fotheringham, Founder and Chief Technology Officer for 3D LifePrints.
3D LifePrints has implemented its 3D technology expertise in a variety of cases, including use in pre-, intra- and post-surgical capacities, for orthopaedic, craniofacial, and cardiac procedures, among others. Last year, the company was the subject of grants from Innovate UK and the Manchester Academic Health Science Centre. This latest investment is the result of two ambitious companies wanting to serve an industry with a growing trust in medical 3D printing applications.
“We’re delighted to be on board with this talented team operating in an emerging and fast-developing market,” said Dr Andrew Douglas, Managing Director of Fenwall Investments Ltd. “We feel the timing is perfect to allow 3D LifePrints to capitalise on its potential. I’m looking forward to an exciting and profitable partnership.”
Henry Pinchbeck, Chief Executive Officer, 3D LifePrints, added: “I’m delighted that Fenwall have invested with us. They are a perfect long-term partner for 3D LifePrints, with a shared set of values and a vision for improving healthcare across the globe.”
