Some of DWS" SLA 3D printing platforms heading to Techniplas' Additive Manufacturing Innovation Center.
Techniplas, a designer and manufacturer of automotive products, has begun a partnership with DWS (Digital Wax Systems) to enhance its additive manufacturing capabilities.
It will see DWS bring its entire portfolio of professional-grade 3D printing products to Techniplas’ open innovation program at its Additive Manufacturing Innovation Center in Ventura, Calif. Techniplas wants to further improve its service to its thousands of associates around the world, adopting innovative technologies to deliver personalised, better-performing products to market.
DWS, operating out of Italy, boasts a host of 3D printing systems, divided between its XFAB and DIGITALWAX brands. They have been designed to support the jewellery and fashion, dental, and manufacturing markets. All powered by the Stereolithography (SLA) process, DWS is aiming to help companies realise the promise of Industry 4.0, and sees Techniplas as a potential beneficiary.
The machines will be installed at Techniplas’ designated additive manufacturing facility, the setting for the company’s open innovation program which recently welcomed Sharebot's 3D printing technology. Fostering a number of partnerships, the open innovation program aims to deliver ecosystem-wide benefits by housing shared technologies and domain expertise. And with this latest partnership, Techniplas is hoping there will be new growth opportunities within the 3D printing industry, which has long had a mutually beneficial relationship with the automotive sector.
