Gravity Pull Systems is rolling out a new generation of its Personal AM Assistant (PAAM) automated toolpath optimisation software for metal laser powder bed fusion systems.
PAAM, the company says, has been developed to help users of additive manufacturing (AM) identify, quantify, and reduce hidden toolpath-driven risks before the first build.
Since toolpath behaviour can influence local quality, porosity risk, multi-laser interaction, gas flow sensitivity, build time, and costs – and raise requalification issues in regulated sectors – Gravity Pull Systems is seeking to boost user confidence in the quality and productivity of AM production workflows.
Gravity Pull Systems has therefore designed a system that can inspect slicer and build files, analyse scan-path behaviour, detect geometry- and process-driven risk mechanisms, and apply controlled toolpath and parameter optimisations.

Among PAAM’s key features are its ability to apply controlled corrective actions when toolpath-driven risks have been identified per-print, and its capacity to optimise scan behaviour for printability, quality, productivity, and qualification awareness without manually produced scripts or scan strategies. It also embeds process knowledge and algorithmic optimisation without needing huge datasets and is said to reduce manual setup, expert intervention, engineering loops, and avoidable human error in toolpath-related decisions.
“Metal AM service providers and regulated manufacturers do not only need better build preparation, they need better build confidence,” said Huba Horompoly, Partner at Gravity Pull Systems. “PAAM makes hidden toolpath risk visible, measurable, and correctable before the first build. The goal is to reduce avoidable trial-and-error and help users understand the production and qualification impact of changes before they become expensive.”
PAAM has already been integrated with EOS, Nikon SLM Solutions, Aconity, and Materialise-connected workflows, and has been licensed by Oerlikon AM and tested in industrial aerospace use cases.
Gravity Pull Systems is also now opening selected PAAM Diagnostic Benchmark projects for metal AM service providers and industrial users.
