Interspectral expands multi-year partnership with Pankl Racing Systems AG

Interspectral and Pankl Racing Systems AG have expanded their multi-year partnership.

The two companies aim to accelerate the industrialisation of metal additive manufacturing through improved process monitoring, quality assurance, and data-driven production workflows.

Moving forward, Pankl will serve as a reference customer and strategic development partner of Interspectral’s AM Explorer platform. They will aim to make quality assurance more reliable, scalable and production-ready by deploying AM Explorer across Pankl’s AM operations. As Pankl implements the platform, it will look to take advantage of its existing anomaly detection, qualification workflows, data integration and real-time monitoring capabilities, while helping to identify potential opportunities in AI-driven defect detection, optical tomography analysis, and multi-source data correlation.

The collaboration is also likely to include joint case studies, industry presentations, and selected co-marketing activities to share learnings and best practices.

“This collaboration is about helping make additive manufacturing a more reliable and scalable production technology,” said Isabelle Hachette, CEO at Interspectral. “As the industry moves from experimentation to industrial deployment, manufacturers need better ways to build trust into production. Working closely with Pankl allows us to develop those capabilities in a real manufacturing environment.”

“At Pankl, performance and reliability are critical,” added Tanja Pfeifer, Business Unit Manager at Pankl Racing Systems AG. “This partnership gives us the opportunity to work closely on technologies that can strengthen process control, quality assurance, and the industrial application of additive manufacturing in demanding production environments.”

MMB VOLUM-e agrees strategic partner agreement

Earlier this year, Interspectral also entered a strategic partnership with MMB VOLUM-e, a French company specialising in model making, prototyping, and serial production.

Having worked together for several years, this partnership will aim to accelerate the industrial adoption of AI-powered quality assurance in additive manufacturing.

Since 2024, MMB VOLUM-e has processed more than 2,500 production builds through AM Explorer and monitors eight AM systems across its facilities. Entering this new partnership, the company will expand its use of AM Explorer to take advantage of faster, data-driven accept/reject decisions (QUALIFY); AI-based anomaly detection during builds (DETECT); and real-time process visibility and reporting (MONITOR).

“Before AM Explorer, our quality engineering spent several hours manually reviewing build data per production run,” said Clément Barret, MMB VOLUM-e. “Now, DETECT flags potential issues automatically during builds, and QUALIFY enables accept-reject decisions in record time, reducing analysis time by 90%. By sharing our production data with Interspectral, we’re helping advance the entire industry’s capabilities.”
