Dyemansion's DM60 post-processing system can now add 170 different colours to 3D printed polymer parts.
The German start-up, who recently raised $5m in Series A funding, made the announcement at TCT Show in Birmingham, UK. It has increased the machine's colour capabilities tenfold and enhances significantly Dyemansion's hardware offering, as well as the company's On-Demand Service.
For Dyemansion it represents an important development in its product offering. Expanding the diversity of available colours means enhancing the aesthetics of printed components.

"Standardising our colour offer is a major milestone for the industry and was always one of our goals at DyeMansion. Even three years ago when we just offered 17 different standard colours. From now on, DyeMansion customers have access to 170 RAL colours out of the box. The RAL colour range enables totally new design possibilities for 3D printed parts and true freedom of design, which is way more than the free choice to produce every imaginable geometry," Pia Harlaß, Head of Marketing at DyeMansion, told TCT.
The DM60 machine dyes raw polymer parts in a water bath under pressure and heat. Colour pigments and chemicals from the colour cartridges then react with the surface of the parts and infiltrate into their pores, meaning colour reaches areas of the part that would not be covered via spray painting. In bringing the new colour capabilities, Dyemansion has been working with PA2200 material, and soon the company will make its 170-strong RAL palette available for HP's Multi Jet Fusion 300/500 series. Now, users of the 300/500 series will be able to print parts in white.
