Lucitone Digital Print Denture workflow has been optimised for Carbon’s M-Series printers.
Carbon has teamed with one of the world’s biggest manufacturers of professional dental products and technologies, Dentsply Sirona, on a new 3D printing workflow for dentures.
The so-called Lucitone Digital Print Denture workflow and material system has been optimised for Carbon’s M-Series printers and will deliver the first digitally produced complete single arch dentures over existing dentition (1 arch), and full-over-full dentures (2 arches) made with Dentsply Sirona material, Crafted by Carbon.
The news has been described as “a paradigm shift for 3D printed prostheses” and aims to provide significant advancements in materials, the laboratory process, and functionality for the patient.
The cloud-based workflow includes five core products: Lucitone Digital Print 3D Denture Resin, IPN 3D Digital Denture Teeth, Lucitone Digital Try-in 3D Trial Placement Resin, Lucitone Digital Fuse 3-Step system, and the Lab Speedcure Processing Unit.
Leveraging Carbon’s Digital Light Synthesis technology, the Lucitone Digital Print 3D Denture Resin enables labs of all sizes to print up to eight denture arches in approximately two hours. Dentures made with Lucitone Digital Print 3D Denture Resin resist breakage due to the material’s high impact and flexural strength properties. The proven Lucitone formulation is manufactured with True Color Technology to allow for consistent results in five Lucitone shades.
The Lucitone Digital Print Denture features IPN 3D Digital Denture teeth along with the Lucitone Digital Fuse 3-Step system to provide premium aesthetics and IPN durability with a cohesive bond. The 3-step Fuse process allows technicians of varying abilities and experience to set and fuse up to 14 denture teeth in less than 12 minutes.
The Lucitone Digital Print Denture was FDA cleared in August and will be available this month to early access partners in the US with a full launch to all Carbon M-Series users in the USA expected in Q1 2020.
Carbon’s technology has proven a popular choice in the dental industry with a number of large dental labs including National Dentex Labs in the US, and Byrnes Dental Lab in the UK, installing its fast M-Series machines to produce dental models and devices.
