BigRep & Endless Industries introduce large-format continuous fibre reinforcement 3D printing capability

BigRep and Endless Industries have partnered to industrialise and scale large-format additive manufacturing with continuous fibre reinforcement.

Endless Industries’ continuous fibre technology has been integrated into the BigRep IPSO 105 platform, with the resulting solution said to be able to produce ‘large-scale, mechanically reinforced parts at economically viable cost levels.’

With this machine, the partners say that users will be able to produce components offering up to 20x higher strength compared to unreinforced thermoplastics at reduced costs versus traditional fibre placement systems.

Endless Industries is a developer of print heads, materials, and software in a vertically integrated approach. By aligning with BigRep, it is hoping to reduce system complexity and provide a piece of production-grade manufacturing equipment.

The integrated solution is said to be able to process high-performance and high-temperature thermoplastics thanks to a build chamber that can reach 100°C for enhanced process stability. It also utilises optimised fibre architecture through Endless Industries’ proprietary ‘Akio’ software platform.

Users, the partner say, will be able to deploy this platform for the manufacture of high-strength jigs and fixtures, lightweight structural aerospace parts, and customised, load-bearing medical devices like orthotics and prosthetics.

“After two years of joint development, we’ve reached a level of technological maturity that will redefine the role of continuous fibre in industrial 3D printing,” said Thomas Janics-Jakomini, CEO of BigRep. “Now is the right time to bring this innovation to market.”

“Large-format composite manufacturing has traditionally been craft-based or required multi-million-dollar investments,” added Stephan Knopf, CEO of Endless Industries. “This partnership removes those constraints. Customers now gain access to a production-ready system for high-strength parts without the traditional barriers to entry.”

The integrated solution will be available for purchase in the DACH region in the summer of 2026 via a joint sales effort, with international expansion across BigRep’s global partner network in Europe, the US, Asia, and Australia expected to commence through 2027 and 2028. Both companies have said they will invest in scaling expertise, sales, and service infrastructure to support global adoption.
