Yeggi
A German based startup is hoping to be the one stop shop for 3D printing fans everywhere. Yeggi is an aggregator pulling in 3D models free for you to download from the top sites like Thingiverse, Ponoko, YouMagine etc...
The site is developed by Sebastian Karpp, whose previous experience as Search Engine Marketing Manager with billiger.de (the German answer to Kelkoo) stands the site in good stead.
Aggregator sites like this will become more commonplace as those who wish to 3D print but do not have the skills in 3D modelling software. Defense Distributed recently announced their plans to launch a pirated repository for 3D models, but Yeggi’s legitimacy will give them a lot of kudos in the open-source world.
Whether Yeggi has the legs to outrun other upcoming repositories remains to be seen but the fact that upon launch they have close to 40,000 models indexed, certainly gives them a very big head start.
