Xact Metal has said it achieved record machine orders through Q2 and Q3 of 2026.
The company has also started taking orders for its XM300G mid-sized metal printer.
Xact Metal is endeavouring to make metal additive manufacturing more accessible with its small-format laser powder bed fusion offering, and the increase in orders this year would suggest users are increasingly taking up this offer.
“Our products continue to be well received by our customers,” said Juan Mario Gomez, CEO of Xact Metal. “Q2 and Q3 were record quarters in terms of orders, increasing by more than 30% through September 2026 versus the prior year. Our XM200G single- or double-laser metal printer continues to perform strongly in the marketplace, and our newly launched XM200G µHD metal printer – which allows customers to print very small parts using -22 µm particle size metal powder and a 25 µm laser spot size – started shipping in 3Q 2026.”
Xact Metal expects to commence shipping of its XM300G mid-sized printer in mid-2027. This system has been in development for several years and represents a slight jump in build volume, laser capacity, and price compared to the XM200 series. Available at prices starting around $200,000, the machine boasts a 300 x 300 x 300 mm build volume (upgradable to 300 x 300 x 400 mm), a selection of single or quad 500W or 1,000W fibre lasers, and an interchangeable build platform.
