ExOne launches compact S-Print Pro sand 3D printer for small foundries & pattern shops

ExOne has launched the compact S-Print Pro sand 3D printer, bringing ‘production-grade binder jetting to small and mid-sized’ customers.

The company believes the new machine will be able to support foundries, pattern makers, and print service providers.

According to ExOne, the S-Print Pro occupies under 12m2 of floor space and boasts the accuracy and repeatability of its S-Max platform. The company is targeting this machine at smaller foundries and pattern shops that focus on low-volume casting, contract manufacturing, spare-part production, custom components, and form part of regional supply chains.

Among the key features and capabilities of the S-Print Pro is the CoreBoost printhead generation, available at 400 dpi resolution, and the StepX in-situ surface-smoothing that is said to reduce the stair-stepping effect during printing. It boasts a build volume of 1200 x 750 x 500 mm, can print in layer thickness of 01.0-1.00 mm, and can process a ‘full job box’ within one shift.

Additionally, user-replaceable printhead modules help to keep maintenance simple, with service-friendly construction, easy recoater maintenance, and a two-canister change system ‘keep downtime to a minimum.’

“The S-Print Pro is the product foundries have been asking us for: quality industrial sand printing in a system that’s affordable to acquire, install, and run,” said Eric Bader, CEO of ExOne Global Holdings. “Since the ExOne and voxeljet merger, our teams have been focused on combining the best engineering, application knowledge, and customer insight to solve this real production challenge. This launch reflects that work – and our commitment to making industrial binder jetting more accessible to foundries worldwide.”

“Most of the world’s foundries are small operations, many with fewer than 100 employees,” added Aldo Randazzo, Director Application Management & ODP Administration at ExOne. “They are the backbone of the manufacturing industry, yet industrial binder jetting has rarely been built for their scale or budget. We aim to close that gap with the new S-Print Pro.”

S-Print Pro deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second half of 2026, starting with selected beta partners and the earliest reserved production slots.
