Titan America launches xForm3D concrete 3D printing products

Titan America, a U.S. producer of cement and building materials, has launched a 3D printable concrete technology.

xForm3D is a family of products that have been designed to support applications across residential, commercial, infrastructure, and coastal environments. In a press release, Titan America said the technology utilises automated placement' to reduce reliance on traditional formwork while enabling 'greater speed, consistency, and design flexibility' to address long-term trends such as resilient urbanisation and housing affordability.

“This solution underscores how Titan America is investing in innovation that drives long-term growth,” said Bill Zarkalis, President and Chief Executive Officer of Titan America. “Our xForm3D technology builds on our core materials expertise while opening new, scalable markets in automated construction, infrastructure resilience, advanced manufacturing, and manufactured and modular housing solutions. As demand continues to grow for faster, more efficient construction, innovations like xForm3D will help expand what’s possible for the built environment.”

The product family includes xForm3D Standard for general automated construction; xForm3D Marine for marine and underwater applications such as artificial reefs; and xForm3D RMX, designed with larger aggregates sizes for ready-mix truck delivery.

The company says its products will be valuable to builders and contractors by delivering faster construction cycles and improved job site safety through automated placement. It will also be applicable to developers and owners by providing affordable housing solutions, manufactured and modular construction, infrastructure renewal, and coastal protection, and also architects and designers exploring complex geometries and customisation, which can be cost-prohibitive with conventional concrete methods.
